How to take care of your paintings.

If your family has bought a precious oil or watercolour painting and you are worried about how to keep it in great condition. Here are handy tips to help maintain your expensive and beautiful art collection.

1.Do not hold a painting by the top edge of its frame. Make sure that you hold them from underneath so that the weight of the frame does not leave cracks.

2.Avoid using a brush to clean the surface of the painting as it can damage the surface. Choose a small square piece of velvet instead. The smooth surface wipes off dust and lint easily and gently.

3.Do not hang your paintings on the outer walls as the moisture can damage the pigments.

4.Don’t store paintings ever on the top floors as the heat can damage the paint and canvas.
