nail care tips

Show some love to your nails by showering them with care, from eating healthy to hydrating and buffing them regularly. Taking care of your fingernails isn’t that easy. With daily activities, hang nails and broken nails can become a frustrating problem. If you want to grow your nails faster and keep them healthy, here are few tips you must follow. From regular manicures to maintaining your diet, learn how you can make your nails longer and healthier in a simple way.

Nail care  tips

Maintain your cuticles:

It is the dead cells at the base of finger nail or toenail. This part of the body is often ignored. Not right, because they act as a barrier to fight infections, bacteria and other germs. And, that’s why you should not prick, trim and cut them. For healthy nails, you need to hydrate them (with cuticle oil or other oils like almond oil, avocado oil, etc) and push them back with a cuticle pusher. Healthy cuticle is equal to good looking hands and nails.

Hydrate them:

If you want to make your nails stronger, you must hydrate them well. We tend to wash our hands more than our face and end up skipping the hand lotion part. So, make sure you don’t forget to use some cream, moisturiser or lotion to your hands and nails after you wash them.

Eat healthy:

If you notice that your nails are weak and brittle, it can be a reflection of your diet. Focus on the intake of protein, biotin, zinc and iron for better nails. One supplement that is mostly recommended for stronger nails is biotin (available at chemist stores).

Buff your nails:

To maintain a clean and healthy look, exfoliate your nails on a regular basis. Brighten your nails by using a nail buffer to smoothen the nail beds. However, limit the nail care routine to just once a week.

Go for a regular manicure:

Just like facials for your face, you can spend some extra time to get manicures regularly too. The treatment helps to get rid of dry cuticles, hangnails and rough edges. Besides, it’s a relaxing activity.

Best oils for cuticle care:

1.Tea Tree oil has antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial characteristics, making it a great ingredient for preventing and treating nail fungus. It can be applied directly to your nails.
