How to deal with jealous classmates.

Do you see envy written large on your classmate’s face whenever your teacher appreciates you? If you are the blue-eyed boy/girl of the class, chances are you have quite a few peers who are unhappy with you and jealous of you for being the teacher’s pet. Here are few simple-yet-smart tips on how to deal with the situation.

Be diplomatic:

Your peer group might start ignoring you intentionally when you are in the good books of your teachers. You need to keep calm and opt for a diplomatic approach to stop the situation from getting worse. Try to be a part of the class and engage in conversations with them. Have a friendly attitude.

Think before you speak:

Since there is a high probability that you would be the center of all the gossip, refrain from gossiping about others. Listen to everyone, take your time to process the information and react accordingly. You never know how your jealous classmates will tweak what you said.

Don’t brag:

You may have worked really hard to achieve your study milestones but bragging about it, especially in front of your classmates, is not a good idea. Do we need to explain why? As far your achievements are concerned, share it happily only with your friends who will genuinely share your happiness and enthusiasm.
